Jeph I grated it and put it in the freezer..
I have a scar on my thumb knuckle where I was trying to chisle coconut meat out of the shell (late teens?), slipped, and jabbed the knife into the knuckle part of my thumb. Not deep, but it left a flap that developed into a scar...
Jeph that sounds painful...
I have a scar on my left thumb toward the palm from trying to dig coconut meat out with a steak knife.
I needed stitches and they left me in a room at the hospital ER with a pan of betadine to soak my hand in and they forgot me and I nodded off for a nap.
I was awoken by a nurse who said "I hope you're not squeamish." and I looked down at the floor and I'd bled so much that the pan had over-flowed and the floor was covered in a blood and betadine mixture, I had been asleep for about an hour.
There was no charge for the ER visit and the stitches.
Wow..very cool too!
what a bad nurse you had.. I don't have issues with cutting my hand, it seems the oven and I have a run in every so often..
